SkillSet partnered with the Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service to develop a tailored Moodle learning management system that supports the professional development and compliance needs of their staff.

The LMS needed to deliver and track eLearning courses for staff across various levels, ensuring they met fire service standards and completed personal development plans. The system also needed to accommodate complex organisational structures and provide detailed reporting on user progress.

SkillSet’s solution included training on eLearning content creation and custom plug-in development.

SkillSet successfully migrated the Welsh Government’s Business Online Support Service (BOSS) from Totara to Moodle.

The existing Totara platform was becoming outdated, with limited new features and high licensing costs. The Welsh Government needed a more flexible, cost-effective solution to support over 20,000 users and enable continued growth.

SkillSet devised a custom migration plan, categorising existing features into what could be transferred, modified, or required custom development. The migration process was automated to minimise downtime, and SkillSet created bespoke features, such as a custom user interface for development plans.
